Gilbert & Radiah

My 1st meet up with Gilbert and Radiah was at Compass Point KFC way back in February. Other than getting a confirmation of my service, I parted with the thought that I will be adding to my portfolio, my 1st groom with shoulder length hair! <grin>

Time flies and with great anticipation, I arrived at the Mandai Orchid Garden on the 25th of May to a serene surrounding of lush greenery and beautiful orchids. I must admit that this location brings a very special experience to the guests and wedding couple with total freedom to explore and roam around. This is a lovely location for couples who love the great outdoor.

Anyway, the heavy downpour didn’t dampen the mood any bit, plus Gilbert and Radiah and their group of “playful” friends was great fun to work with. And did i mentioned that i added to my portfolio, that of a clean cut boyish groom and a beautifully bride. No ”long hair” groom portfolio for me :( … enjoy the photos.

Children @ Weddings

“Children @ Weddings”. Did i hear fellow photographers scream in horror or smile in delight! Well, I believe it’s almost a fair dose of both but let me share with you my horror and laughter on children at weddings.

Well, the good part first. Children, other than being good photography subject, are a good form of entertainment when the going is slow. This is especially true for those between the age of 2-4yrs old. I think fellow photographers out there will agree with me. Right?

On the other hand when their going is slow and they start sourcing around for “entertainment”, then it’s trouble time for us! Fancy some “touch that len and leave my finger print playtime”? That is a big no no especially those who hang their 2nd camera behind them … these little monsters will zoom in and wack the clear clean glass out of your life. Arrrrrrgh …

Horsing around from 1st - 8th

Hi folks, i will be oversea miking cows and hopping around with kangaroons from 1st - 8th of April. Please restrain from calling me on my mobile as I heard kookaburra doesn’t like tune from mobile phone although my mobile phone operater will think otherwise. You will be welcomed to drop me an email with your name, contact number and enquiry to info@kevinlimphotography.com and I will reply after 8th. Thanks.

Daniel & Phyon (Day 2)

Day 2 of Daniel and Phyon split-day wedding was held in Marina Mandarin, Singapore. I ran out of steam blogging this so here’s my lazy excuse “pictures say a thousand words!!” Enjoy these two photos. <grin>

Daniel & Phyon (Day 1)

Tell me which groom wouldn’t be worry sick for over sleeping or missing the perfect time to fetch their future wife-to-be on their big day? All grooms do. Right?

For Daniel, i guess it really eats into him. His situation is different. His wife-to-be Phyon is across the Causeway and need i mentioned it happens to be Malaysia Polling day and with the great escape artistic Mas Salamet somewhere out there … :(

Anyway I wasn’t surprise when he changed the meet up time twice, each time 15mins eariler. To cut the story short, here are some photos from the ground … traffic jams (from dawn to day break).Traffic jam

Did Daniel make it? Of course he made it. With a little help from his buddies and his wonderful singing, he managed to get to his future wife with little resistance!

The trip back to Singapore was smooth sailing, with enough time for the groom and bride to head home to their newly renovated home before going for church service at Wesley Methodist Church.

The trip back to Johor was smooth with about an hour to spare for ah-hoc photo shoot. Dunga Bay (hope i got it correct!)  was the perfect choice as it was near the restaurant.

Personally I thought the best photos of the day was taken then; with no timeline to meet, the bride and groom was at their most relaxed mood.

As we headed for Restoran Maedo, I can see some volunteers removing the polling day flags … it’s been an eventful but tiring day. :)

John & Katherine

Phew, finally free to post my last wedding shoot for year 2007. John and Katherine held their solmnization cum wedding lunch at The Garden Suite in Mandarin Oriental Singapore on the 30th of Dec 2007. It was a small and pleasant gathering of friends and relatives of the delightful couple; a very close knitted one I should say.

Below are some shoots taken during the event.

Army Girl

27th Nov - 4th Dec came and went without much fanfare. I have dutifully packed my barang barang in anticipation of my “sure activate” mobilisation. Fortunately, all was quiet over the weekend.

Being my lazy self, I only started keeping my army field pack and stuff a week later (much to the dismay of my wife). As I was doing that, my daughter came bouncing past and we ended up having a short photo shoot at the corridor. Here’s a photo.

Well, never limit yourself to imagination. Any props will do. Cheers.

The three little pigs

After a long day at work and exhausting basketball game, I finally reached home (main door) but couldn’t reach for my keys. The gate was lock but the wooden door was open so i peep in and say

“Little pigs, little pigs, let me come in” ….(silence)

Trying again. “Little pigs, little pigs, let me come in” …(silence)

I was expecting my daughters to rush out, screaming at the top of their voices saying “Not by the hair of my chinny, chin, chin, I will not let you in!” But that was not going to happen.

It turned out that they (my daughters) are at Grandma’s house. The house was so quiet, so void. I think i missed them, their laughter, their scream. Welcome to my world of parenthood.

Yup and after all this bullshit, I was just trying to find an excuse to post photos of my lovely daughters!

Daniel & Phyon (ROM)

Now that my blog is up and running, I am writing my very 1st wedding post.

Met up with Daniel and Phyon at Compass Point yesterday to handover their solemnization photos. Their solemnization was held at Swan Lake Gazebo, Botanic Gardens about a week back on the 17th. Lovely ambience, with lots of curious onlookers. Cool man!

Here is a photo of the lovely couple.

My blog is up

It’s 10pm now and I am dead tired. After shooting some poison arrows at Darrel’s MSN regarding WordPress it occured to me that my hosting provider may provide a hassle free way of installing it. As you are reading now, my blog is finally up. Cheers.
